“Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope…” Zechariah 9:12
I am an American college student, currently majoring in sociology and peace studies (I am also very interested in the areas of theology and literature), and I started this blog as a way to practice my writing skills, put my thoughts in writing, let friends and family know how life is going, and share things like poems with them.
But if you don’t know me, I hope you find value in what I’ve written too.
In everything, I seek to be a disciple of Christ, which means trusting him to teach me what it means to live life to the full, and in my distress not to depend on my own strength but to turn to him and be filled with his love, that I might love others in the same way, in humility and in truth.
I believe that, through Christ, God is working for the restoration of all things: he is filling the empty, healing the wounded, embracing the broken, melting the hard hearts of the proud (of which I am one).
He is creating life anew in the midst of death; in the midst of despair he is planting hope.
This is the hope that has captured me, and this is the foundation on which I seek to build my life.
